요즘 코로나19로 인해 회의 시에 화상회의 플랫폼(Webex, Zoom)을 이용하는 경우가 많은데요.

 

너무 어렵게 생각하지 않아도 됩니다! 온라인 원격회의에 참여하는데 아주 유용한 오늘의 표현들, 지금부터 공부해볼까요?

먼저 기술적인 문제(사운드, 영상 등)에 대한 영어 표현입니다!

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Could you turn on the video?

 

TIP) on & off 만으로도 쉽게 여러 가지 상황을 간단하게 설명할 수 있습니다.

예를 들어, '당신의 마이크가 꺼져있는거 같아요'는 "I think your mic is off."

'얼굴이 안보여요'는 "It seems your screen is off." 

 

 

 

2. Can you hear me well? / Can you hear me okay? 제 말 잘 들리시나요?

 

TIP) 아무래도 영상회의 성격상 어떠한 발언을 할 때 가장 많이 쓰는 표현 중 하나 입니다. 

 

 

 

3. I can hear you loud and clear / crystal clear.

 

TIP) 정말 투명하고 깨끗한 크리스탈(crystal)을 응용한 표현입니다.

이외에도, 자신의 의견이 무엇보다 확실할 때 crystal clear로 답할 수 있습니다

예를 들어, "Are you sure about that?" "Yes, I am crystal clear" 혹은 그냥 "Crystal clear"만 답하시면 됩니다.

4. I am sharing some slides at this moment, is everyone able to see them well?

 

TIP) at this moment / right now 지금

 

 

 

5. There is echo on the line so I cannot really hear you.

 

TIP) 잡음이 있어서 잘 안 들릴 때는 'static'을 사용해서 "There is static on the line"이라고 말하시면 됩니다.

 

 

 

6. You cut out at the end. Could you repeat the last part?

 

TIP) 'cut out'은 기술적인 문제로 상대방 말이 잘 안 들렸을 때 쓸 수 있고,

'cut off'는 인터넷이 끊겼었다는 자신의 상태를 말할 때 사용합니다.

예를 들어, '인터넷이 끊겼었네요'는 "My internet connection was cut off / My internet was disconnected"입니다.

 

 

 

7. Your voice is breaking a bit so could you please check your internet connection?

 

TIP) '제 인터넷 상태가 안좋아서 다시 확인하고 들어오겠습니다'는 "It seems I have a poor internet connection (or my internet connection is not good). I will check my connection and come back again."

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Thank you all for joining the call today / Thank you all for being with us today.

 

TIP) Thank you 대신 "I am very grateful that all of you are here today."으로도 말할 수 있습니다.

 

 

 

2. Let's go ahead and begin the meeting. Hopefully, more people would be joining us shortly.

 

TIP) '(주저리주저리 끝나고) 그럼 이제 바로 회의를 시작하도록 하겠습니다' "Without further ado, let's start the meeting."

*Without further ado 더 이상 말하지 않고, 지체 없이 바로

 

 

 

3. Let me start todays' meeting due to time constraints.

 

Tip) 시간 제한이 있다 "be short on time, get short on time"

시간이 촉박하다 "run out of time"

시간제한(명사) time constraints / time limits

 

 

 

4. Did you get a chance to check my email I sent you earlier?

 

TIP) 그냥 Did you check my email? 보다는 get a chance to를 사용하여 좀 더 예의있게 말할 수 있는 방법입니다.

5. I am not sure I fully understood your question. Could you please clarify a little more?

 

TIP) '맞게 이해했는지 확실히 모르겠다'는 "I am not sure my understanding is correct."을 사용해보세요.

 

 

 

6. Please feel free to use the chat box to ask questions.

 

TIP) chime in (끼어들다)를 사용해서 더 고급진 영어 표현을 쓸 수 있어요.

예를 들어, '질문이 있으시면 언제든지 주시면 됩니다' "Do not hestitate to chime in with your questions."

 

 

 

7. I will be the person leading the discussion session today.

 

TIP) 회의를 주관하다 "preside over the meeting"

회의를 소집하다 "convene the meeting"

 

 

 

8. Is there anyone to add more comments? I can see no more questions at this moment so let's move on to the next session.

 

TIP) 다음 안건으로 넘어가다 "move on to the next agenda item"

회의를 마무리하다 "close out/wrap up the meeting"
